Berner Industrier is a Nordic industrial group in sustainable technology that operates in a number of attractive and growing niche markets. The Group offers innovative products and solutions that help solve the challenges of our societies through technology. Key areas include clean energy, clean water and sustainable resource utilisation. At its core, there are four technology trading companies under the Christian Berner brand, which has a long history of being a strategic partners to leading technology suppliers around the world. Today, they are among the leading technology trading companies in the Nordic region. In recent years, the Group has expanded to include a number of new technology companies – Zander & Ingeström, Empakk, Bullerbekämparen and Swedenborg – all of which offer products and solutions that are in one way or another driven by an increased need for sustainability. Among other things, the portfolio now includes well-known and global brands such as Zetapannan and Swedamper flue gas dampers.

Sustainable technology – an attractive growth area

Berner Industrier currently consists of eight operating companies that together have about 215 employees across the Nordic region and annual net sales of about SEK 950 million. The Group has a clear growth strategy and aims to both grow existing businesses and add new companies to the Group.

Berner Industrier was founded in 1897 and has been listed on Nasdaq Stockholm’s main market since 2017.

Over 125 years of knowledge and quality

1897

Christian Berner is founded in Gothenburg by Norwegian Christian Berner. Initially, Christian Berner imported and sold technical equipment to breweries.

1910

The Norwegian subsidiary is founded.

1920

Christian Berner starts his own production of cork boards in Älvängen outside Gothenburg.

1923

The Finnish subsidiary is founded.

1924

The Danish subsidiary is founded.

1936

Christian Berner launches its first in-house bottled milk bottling machine.

1975

Investments in the new product groups of technical plastics, pumps and instruments, which have contributed to the Christian Berner companies’ current operations.

1999

The third generation of the Berner family takes over the business.

2006

The technology trade business is reorganised under the name Christian Berner Tech Trade (CBTT).

2017

Christian Berner renews its brand and CBTT is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm.

2018

Acquisition of Zander & Ingeström.

2019

Acquisition of Empakk AS and Alfa Tec Sweden AB.

2020

Acquisition of Bullerbekämparen.

2021

Acquisition of AB G.F. Swedenborg Ingenjörsfirma.

2022

New Group Management and a new business area structure with an increased focus on decentralisation.

2023

Highest EBITA and net sales in the Group’s history.

The Group’s head office is moved to Stockholm (from Mölnlycke).

2024

Name changed to Berner Industrier AB
