Zander & Ingeström receives major order of electric boilers from Kokkolan Energia power plants

Berner Industrier's subsidiary Zander & Ingeström has signed an agreement with Kokkolan Energia Oy in Finland for the supply of electric boilers totalling 120 MW. Delivery will take place in 2026.

Zander & Ingeström will deliver two 20 kV high-voltage electric boilers of 60 MW each. The boilers will be installed at two different power plants, Voima and Power, in Kokkola, where the customer will increase its carbon-neutral steam production. In addition to reducing carbon dioxide emissions for the plant, the boilers will also increase flexibility in light of fluctuating electricity prices and availability. The boilers will be in operation in late autumn 2026.

"At Zander & Ingeström, we have been working with boilers for 100 years and are the world leader in high-voltage electric boilers for the production of hot water and process steam. The electric Zeta boiler from Zander & Ingeström replaces boilers powered by fossil fuels, a globally growing market," says Marcus Wigren, CEO of Zander & Ingeström, and continues:
"We are expanding further both geographically and thanks to an increasingly broader product portfolio of our own products."

"The Group's goal is to contribute to the sustainable society of the future through technical solutions. Zander & Ingeström's Zetapanna not only enables fossil-free production of hot water and process steam but also offers a way to be able to handle fluctuations in the energy system. In addition to phasing out fossil fuels, it is also becoming increasingly important to be able to manage volatility in energy systems" says Caroline Reuterskiöld, President and CEO of Berner Industrier AB.
